# How to pause your ride ?

Need to leave your Pony unattended for a few minutes ? Remember to pause your ride - this will lock the Pony and only your phone will be able to unlock it again!
To do this, press the pink Pause button just next to the speedometer on your app

You can take a break outside the dedicated parking zones if you need to, in which case you must still be careful to respect the general principles of parking and **not leave the vehicle** :
* In the middle of the pavement
* On or in front of a pedestrian crossing
* On the carriageway or cycle path
* On wheelchair ramps
* On areas that must be kept clear for safety reasons (e.g. emergency exits)
* On parking spaces reserved for cars

|| Breaks are charged at the standard rate. If you have a membership or have a coupon code, they count towards the maximum ride time.
